Preparations for Open House

December 3, 2015 Property News 0

Of four stunning new homes at a prime Winchester address, just one remains available for sale as building concludes, final touches are made to landscaping and details are put in place in readiness for the official launch and Open House event.

Oliver Mews sits proudly on Christchurch Road and the design combines all the elegance of classical architecture with beautiful internal living space where the accent is firmly on quality fittings and luxurious circulation space. Deep skirtings throughout the house are complemented by bold architraves and cornicing, now instantly recognisable as Alfred Homes features for those familiar with this highly successful local brand, together with chalky tones dictating the interior decoration.

The reception hall is impressive and the study opens from here via double doors. Incorporating the magnificent arched window to the front elevation is a superb reception room ideal as a formal dining room or sitting room. The stunning kitchen is a bright, open plan space, naturally lit by a roof lantern with areas for the family to enjoy meals and also relax. A utility room and guest cloakroom complete the layout with a feature staircase rising through the house where circulation space continues to impress with wonderful landings on the first and second floors

The first floor drawing room has an elegant fireplace and a large bedroom suite on this floor is ideal as a master or guest suite. If the ground floor reception room is used as the drawing room there is the option of reconfiguring the first floor to create a fourth double bedroom with en suite.

The top floor is arranged with two exceptional bedroom suites, ideal for families or downsizers looking for larger rooms with all rooms having potential as the master suite depending on aspect preference.

Bi-folding doors open from the kitchen to the west facing garden which has been beautifully landscaped to a formal design with lawns and topiary together with a further area on the southern flank facilitated by the width of the plot. A double garage lies to the rear of the garden.

This prime position is the perfect location for this wonderful blend of classical styling with modern efficiency. Appointments may be made for the Open House event on Saturday 5 December. Call Savills on 01962 834045 or Strutt & Parker on 01962 869999. A price of £1,650,000 is quoted.…

Summer Corner works well throughout the year

December 3, 2015 Property News 0

Occupying a lovely corner plot just outside the village of Denmead, Summer Corner is a charming home, designed and refurbished to a high standard throughout. This semi-rural location east of the village sits on the edge of the South Downs with lovely countryside all around and within seven miles of Portsmouth on the south coast.

The house has spacious accommodation which has plenty of character enhancing the living environment, from extensive glazing flooding the interior with natural light, to generous principal rooms, with wood burning stoves, which are perfect for entertaining in extravagant style, and a versatile layout to suit a variety of lifestyles.

Take for example the room off the kitchen, this is ideal just as a further sitting room with lovely views over the garden, or a playroom perhaps for younger members of the family. There is also a study on the ground floor which could be a fifth bedroom if the need arises. This is in addition to a large sitting room and a formal dining room, although there is plenty of space in the superb kitchen for relaxed dining, and French doors out to the garden for when the weather warms up again.

A feature staircase rises from the solid wood floor in the rear hall to a wonderfully bright landing where a reading area has been created facilitated by walls of glass. Four double bedrooms lead off the landing together with a large family bathroom. The master suite is split level with a dressing area and its own bathroom and there is also a door through to a games room which sits above the attached double garage.

The gardens wrap around the house with raised lawns, neatly edged borders, paved pathways and terraces which means there is always a sunny spot to be enjoyed. A good size driveway in front of the double garage provides parking.
