Ivanhoe Terrace, Hyde Street, Winchester

READY FOR VIEWING

The fascinating project of renovating a period building with a contemporary addition within central Winchester is drawing to a close. Ivanhoe Terrace on Hyde Abbey Road is having the final touches applied in preparation for potential purchasers to view.

Ivanhoe Terrace is set to appeal to professional couples, investors and downsizers seeking an attractive home that’s high on functionality, low on maintenance and big on practicality.

Very much at the heart of city life, this building was formerly the home of the local Women’s Institute. Hyde Abbey Road is well positioned for access into Winchester’s city centre; the leisure centre is just around the corner and the train station just a third of a mile away.

One of these two bedroom houses was sold off plan and another has recently been reserved which means that there is just one home remaining for sale. With a smart new kitchen, lovely bathrooms and an interesting layout, this is a highly appealing property. Each house here at Ivanhoe Terrace has two parking spaces and a pretty outside space near the front door.

Jane Kennerley at Savills News Homes is impressed with the layout of this home which has a superb open plan living room on the first floor, flooded with natural light from large windows and says: “This is a superb space where the natural light is a wonderful feature. This house is also very well positioned not only for a level walk to the city centre but also to acres of open parkland, riverside walks and a nature reserve and the train station is about ten minutes away.”

Robert Weston is a local developer whose business was established with one clear concept at its heart: to design high-calibre developments that the founders would love to live in, play……

Inspired design with period charm, The Farmhouse, Orrs Meadow, Ovington, Winchester

October 17, 2016 Property News 0

Inspired design with period charm

Elegant design themes have been used to great effect at this fabulous period farmhouse which lies off the Alresford Road near Ovington, a short distance east of Winchester. The wonderful palette of classical tones gives a variation throughout the interior and these are complemented by the combination of wood flooring, flagstones in the dining hall and boot room, exposed oak timbers, and impressive fireplaces with wood burning stoves. These features create a comfortable backdrop throughout this spacious home.

However, this is very much a house for today’s lifestyles with underfloor heating, a stunning kitchen complete with a central island, granite work surfaces and an inviting window seat with views over the garden. The layout too has huge appeal with well proportioned rooms, many with dual aspects over the garden, and adaptable rooms to suit most family dynamics.

The ground floor has three principal reception rooms, the kitchen/breakfast room, office, utility and boot room whilst from the elegant hallway stairs lead down to a large basement which has been tanked and fitted with underfloor heating, making these rooms suitable for a host of ideas.

The split level landing has a large window flooding the wide stairwell with natural light and the gallery landing has stripped wood flooring and exposed timbers. Doors open to five bedrooms, one ideal as a guest suite with its own shower room, with another currently fitted as a dressing room and with a door to a shower room. There is also a family bathroom on this floor and a lovely further bedroom on the floor above with sloping ceilings.

The property is accessed via a gravel driveway which leads to a double car port and the front garden is enclosed by a brick and flint wall with a gate opening to a……
