Beautiful cottage to call home

March 3, 2016 Property News 0

The wonderful character and spacious layout of Dauntsey Cottage create a superb homely environment; somewhere to come back to eagerly after a busy day or brisk winter’s walk.

The farmhouse style kitchen is particularly appealing with plenty of cream painted units, an Aga keeping things warm, a central island and ample space for informal dining. Internal bi-folding doors open from here into a superb oak framed garden room, with underfloor heating, which was added a few years ago to create an open plan family space.

Oak flooring in the entrance hall, study and formal dining room sets the scene and the dining room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove to make things cosy for suppers in the winter, or lazy Sunday lunches.

The drawing room is a large space with a library or music room at one end and there are French doors to the garden from both the reception rooms.

On the practical side of things there is an excellent laundry room with direct access to the garden and a cloakroom.

Upstairs the accent is on the master suite which comprises a large bedroom, deep fitted storage cupboards and luxurious bathroom with a central bath and separate shower. Three further good size bedrooms share the family bathroom.

The gardens surround the cottage and stretch to almost half an acre from mature hedging at the front to a well enclosed rear garden, simply laid out for ease of maintenance and with spring bulbs, shrubs and trees. A large flagstone terrace on the sunny side is perfect for outside dining in the summer.

A superb range of outbuildings complete the picture with a double bay open garage and large store room; a games room which is also ideal as a gym, and a fully insulated summer house currently used as an office with power and light laid on in addition to telephone and broadband booster.

The private setting is a bonus and there is plenty of parking with a large driveway.

Dauntsey Cottage is situated along a rural lane near the village of Weyhill, about four miles from Andover and there are good local amenities.

Offers are invited around £795,000. Contact Evans & Partridge in Stockbridge on 01264 810702 for more information. …

Number 13 Tanfield Park enjoys a fabulous location within a short walk of Wickham Square and also backs onto Wickham Park Golf Course. The location, combined with the popular features of being a detached property with a spacious interior together with a south facing garden could prove to be irresistible to purchasers. However, the property does need updating so would only suit a family looking to put in some work but they could end up with a lovely home that could be adapted and kitted out to suit their individual lifestyle.

Although already fairly spacious the house would also lend itself to an extension but currently includes a central entrance hall with a door to the large ‘L’ shaped living room with woodblock flooring where there are defined dining and relaxing areas. The kitchen sits at the front of the house and there is also a separate family room with glazed doors to the garden, and a ground floor cloakroom.

Final family homes released by David Wilson Homes in Petersfield

February 25, 2016 Property News 0

New homes in Petersfield have proved so popular that just a handful of homes remain at the David Wilson Homes development.

Foxfield Grove has been a great success story for the five star housebuilder with the first homes reserved before the doors officially opened just 18 months ago and the final homes now available.

Sales director Michelle Storer said a combination of location, style and quality had attracted a wide range of buyers and just five homes now remain.

“We knew there was demand for high quality homes in the town and the development has been popular with local people and those from further afield looking for a semi-rural location but with good access to road and rail networks,’’ she said.

The final homes available include the five bedroom Gilthorpe design which costs from £870,000.

“This is one of the most impressive designs at Foxfield Grove and we’re expecting families looking for a combination of space and close proximity to some great schools to be reserving a Gilthorpe,’’ said Michelle. “The development is in the catchment area for The Petersfield School, Steep Primary School and Buriton School.”

Alice Church, from Savills, added: “The Gilthorpe is an impressive home ideal for modern family living. The house type features a wonderful open-plan kitchen/family room with French doors to the back garden, and an imposing galleried landing which makes the house feel truly special.”
