Video competition asks people to show why they love their hometown

July 7, 2016 Property News 0

People from across the UK have been invited to show exactly why they love where they live as part of a new video competition with a £1,000 top prize.

Property specialist Leaders has announced the return of its Love living in competition, which debuted in 2015 and asks entrants to showcase the best of their hometown in a video of no more than three minutes.

Love living in is designed to allow people to put their village, town or city under the spotlight and show all the features that make it so special.

In addition to a £1,000 top prize for the best video, the winner will receive an extra £1,000 for a community group* of their choice. Further prizes of £500 plus £500 for a community group will be awarded to the young person who produces the best film and the winner of a People’s Choice award based on social media shares.

Allison Thompson, managing director at Leaders, says: “We know that every area is loved by the people who live there for many different reasons. The aim of Love living in is to highlight these reasons and to give people a chance to share the pride they have in the place they call home.

“Whether people live in a city of skyscrapers or an isolated seaside retreat, we want to see everything that makes it so remarkable in their eyes.

“Last year’s competition was a resounding success as we received a huge number of outstanding videos documenting life everywhere from London to Selsey, Lincoln and Wallington.

“We hope this year’s Love living in will be even more popular and inspires people of all ages to get outdoors over the summer and start filming. There is no need to produce a professional film; all entrants need is a smartphone……
