Well positioned townhouse

Well positioned townhouse

The interesting design, attractive walled gardens on three sides, garage and off road parking are undoubtedly appealing features, but essentially it is the fabulous quiet yet convenient location of this townhouse that is the main focus.

For those who need quick access to Winchester’s thriving city centre, the excellent array of schools in the area and the mainline train station, this lovely townhouse on the corner of Beaufort Road and Edgar Road will hold high appeal. One of just nine houses built in the late 1980s this three storey house at the end of the row has been extended on the ground floor, enhancing the relaxing space and giving more light and access to the garden through French doors.

The kitchen/breakfast room has been re-fitted and now features a gas Aga, with a utility room on the other side of the entrance hall helping to keep things tidy. The reception room has two distinct zones, easily arranged as dining and relaxing spaces with glazed doors to the gardens on two sides.

The master suite lies on the first floor and has a walk through dressing area into the private bathroom; with another double bedroom on this floor together with the family shower room.

The top floor has two further double bedrooms, a fifth bedroom or study and a useful store, which has potential to be converted into an additional shower room.

Good quality double glazed windows have replaced the original units, which assists with energy saving, together with the recent gas fired boiler for the central heating.

The main part of the garden faces east with further areas on the south and north sides, all attractively planted and with the lovely backdrop of a high brick wall for privacy.

There’s plenty of room at this Inn for Christmas

October 6, 2016 Property News 0

Some people might consider there’s not much purpose in a pub with no beer – but they would be wrong.

For the Hurstbourne Inn, a former landmark licensed premises at Hurstbourne Priors in Hampshire, is about to become home to three families upon completion, very soon, of the latest project by Fremington Properties, a Hampshire-based company led by chartered surveyor Charles Bradshaw.

Hurstbourne Priors is a picturesque hamlet, complete with thatched cricket pavilion beside the parish church set beside a tributary of the River Test, one of the world’s most famous chalk fishing streams. It is very well connected, with the A34, A303, and Whitchurch mainline station, with a fast service via Basingstoke to Waterloo, within easy striking distance. Whitchurch is also a market town with a good mix of businesses and an excellent secondary school. Neighbouring Longparish has an excellent, recently upgraded school for younger pupils plus a store, post office, and two pub / restaurants.

The conversion project has seen the former public house become three terraced homes, with a three bedroom home embraced by a two bedroom home to one side and a two bedroom home with study / third bedroom to the other side. The project has been completed while retaining the attractive appearance of the original building and, due to the spacious interior of the structure, there has been no compromise on living space in any of the homes.

Each of the properties also has a garden and two private car parking spaces – there is also visitor parking and the properties have cycle and garden tool storage.

“I sold the Hurstbourne Inn to Fremington Properties and recognised that the company’s vision for what could be achieved would result in three very high calibre new homes,” says Chris Gooch, residential sales partner at Carter Jonas…

Specialist housebuilder and brownfield developer Inland Homes is launching the first phase of 54 homes at its flagship Meridian Waterside development off plan on Saturday 8th October.

The sales launch will be held at St Mary’s Football stadium in Southampton from 10am to 4pm. Inland Homes is inviting all those interested in buying at Meridian Waterside to register with them by emailing sales@inlandplc.com or their selling agent Savills on Southampton_RDS@savills.com

Vicki Noon, Sales and Marketing Director for Inland Homes says; “There is great excitement surrounding the launch of this striking new development and we are expecting the launch event to be very busy. Meridian Waterside is located on the site of the former Meridian TV studios. Development is well under way on the 350 home scheme, which will form a new gateway into the city via road from the east.

Inland Homes is planning four phases of one, two and three bedroom properties, set within courtyard gardens. There will be a new publicly accessible park set alongside the Northam Road, which will enable access to a new riverside walk.

The launch of Meridian Waterside follows on from Inland Homes’ successful appearance at the Southampton Boat Show, where visitors had the chance to see for themselves what the changing river vista will bring to the city.

Inland is also the approved developer for the Chapel Riverside site, located down the River Itchen at the former town depot in Southampton, in conjunction with Southampton City Council. The two sites when developed will kick-start the long term regeneration plans for……
