Home office provides versatile space

November 26, 2015 Property News 0

Abbots Barton lies on the northern periphery of Winchester and from here it is an easy run into the city centre and the train station and there are also good road connections to the motorway network. Although now absorbed into Winchester, Abbots Barton has retained the atmosphere of a village community and has its own identity.

Part of a recently built development this four bedroom house has come to the market for sale and will appeal particularly to families looking for a spacious home which also has the added benefit of a fabulous home office above the garage and is therefore ideal for someone working from home or a family which needs additional space perhaps as a teenage den.

Designed very much with a family in mind, this house has four good size bedrooms arranged over the first and second floors, with two smart bathrooms.

On the ground floor the kitchen is beautifully fitted with high gloss units for a modern look and Smeg appliances; this room has a dining area with French doors to the garden. The sitting room is a lovely dual aspect relaxing space and the utility room is a useful feature and there is also a cloakroom.

The garden wraps around the house, enclosed at the front and side by a traditional brick and flint wall and the main garden is simply laid out with a paved terrace leading on to a level lawn.

The home office sits above the carport which is not attached to the house and is a highly versatile space with power and lighting and with the benefit of a utility cupboard and a cloakroom.

Branch Manager of Fox & Sons, Lewis Cosier says “This well presented house in Wykeham Way is a spacious home with a superb separate home office.”

A price of £625,000 is quoted by Fox & Sons and an appointment to view can be made by calling the Winchester office on 01962 862121…

Charming home with superb rural views

November 26, 2015 Property News 0

The Barn House is a generous family home, well located in a quiet position in the village of Hurstbourne Priors. Sitting at the top of the Test Valley, wonderful countryside surrounds the village and Whitchurch is nearby with a good range of amenities.

The house works well as a family home, is well presented and sits in an elevated position looking over parkland. The accommodation is incredibly versatile with the added potential to enlarge into the attached garage and workshop which has attic storage above accessed from the main house on the first floor.

The current layout already provides spacious family accommodation with a superb formal drawing room with a delightful south easterly dual aspect with views across countryside towards the church. A lovely open fire sets the scene for the winter months and French doors allow full enjoyment of the garden in the summer. The large dining room has a high ceiling and a feature fireplace.

Leading off the other side of the welcoming reception hall is an excellent farmhouse style kitchen with an Aga, further appliances, granite work surfaces, space for a central dining table, walk in larder and an adjacent utility/boot room.

Some of the best views are from the master bedroom on the first floor and this room also has a good range of cupboards, an adjoining bathroom with a second double bedroom with fitted wardrobes having potential as a superb dressing room if required.

At the front there is plenty of parking and a pretty archway leading to the garage with the workshop and wine store behind. The gardens are attractively laid out with lawns culminating in herbaceous borders, apple trees and a lovely pathway covered by a pergola as a focal point to be admired from the paved terrace.

STYLISH LIVING AT MORNINGDALE FIELD

November 26, 2015 Property News 0

Attention all downsizers, commuters, first time buyers….in fact anyone who is looking for a stylish, new two bedroom home should take a look at the beautiful semi-detached properties at Alfred Homes’ Morningdale Field development on the outskirts of Winchester, where just one of these perfectly proportioned homes is available.

“There are so many plus points to this high quality two bed” comments Simon North, Partner of Strutt & Parker, Winchester who are marketing the property,  “the internal layout is excellent, with a fantastic living space opening onto a lovely private garden with both double bedrooms having en suite bathrooms, and with private parking it’s just an excellent buy. Plus the fact that there are so very few good quality two bedroom homes in the Winchester area at the moment, and that Morningdale Field is so well located for the station, city centre and local amenities, it really does tick the box for many people to either live in, or as an addition to an investment portfolio.”

Morningdale Field is an exclusive development of nine new homes (one pair of semi-detached and seven detached properties), due for completion early next year; eight of the properties have already been  reserved or sold, including the fabulous show home, Morningdale House, however, it is still available to view and is open daily from 10am-5pm.

For guide prices and further information either visit the show home at the development, located on Bereweeke Avenue, Winchester, SO22 6BH, or find out more at: www.aflredhomes.co.uk…

Rental market overview from Goadsby

November 23, 2015 Property News 0

As a leading agent the Goadsby teams across the area are often asked how buoyant the rental market is and if it is prudent to still invest in the Buy-to-Let market.

A recent report shows tenant demand remains strong with eastern England seeing the biggest net growth in tenant demand with a 48% increase. This was closely followed by the South West – with 45% increase – and the South East and outer London – with 41 and 40% respectively.

Kim Bone, from the Winchester office comments: “These figures demonstrate just how important the private rented sector is in housing a growing number of people.”

England’s housing market is beginning to reflect a more European way of thinking with more people choosing to rent in the long term rather than buy.

Kim concludes: “This situation offers the perfect platform for Buy-to-Let investors and as Goadsby is a multi-discipline company we are able to offer a complete package to see the whole process through.”
